At the end of October 2025, an exhibition will open at the Ljubljana City Museum to mark the centenary of the birth of Miki Muster. The exhibition will include, among other things, selected photo documents and objects, reminding us of the importance of inspiration and exchange, which was once few and therefore all the more significant, and will revive the resonant moments when Disney, Muster and Murillo began their work. This will also be an opportunity to show the difference between inspiration and copying. With this in mind, they will also return to a historical overview and the beginning of comics, remember the authors who laid the foundations in Slovenia, and look back at Muster’s fellow travelers, all the way to those born before 1945.
Premiere of The Adventures of Trickster, Hardie and Hungerly: The Three Musketeers
On February 7, 2025, the Slovenian Youth Theatre will premiere the play The Adventures of Trickster, Hardie and Hungerly: The Three Musketeers, directed by Matjaž Pograjc. Description: The thrilling adventures of three friends who save the kingdom in a fairy-tale time of highway robbers, hidden treasures and battles for succession… They face enemies who strike fear into their bones, but their sparkling spirit always finds the right way out of the impasse. Lost valuables, mysterious intrigues, daring twists – nothing is too much for our three heroes, an example of true friendship and the fight for a just cause. The elegant Aramis, the wise Athos, the indulgent Porth… Oops, no, mistake. We are actually talking about Trickster, Hardie and Hungerly! Everything else is true. The turtle Hardie, the fox Trickster and the wolf Hungerly will take to the stage straight from the comic book by the famous Miki Muster. This year, 2025, we celebrate the centenary of his birth. On this occasion, the Slovenian Youth Theatre will also pay tribute to him. Matjaž Pograjc and his team will theatrically transform Muster’s masterful drawings, elaborate and juicy dialogues, vivid adventures and insightful humor with a unique interweaving of puppetry, drama and video, and will also enliven all of this with music and choreography. All for one, one for all!
